KRMF clients Eugene Gilyard and Lance Felder, who were granted new trials on October 8, were ordered released on bail today. Â As noted earlier, Gilyard and Felder, have been incarcerated for 15 years for a murder they did not commit. Â After Common Pleas Judge Rose Marie Defino-Nastasi ordered that they receive a new trial, the District Attorney’s Office had the option to take an appeal. Â Today, however, the District Attorney’s Office announced that it would not appeal the grant of a new trial.
In addition, the District Attorney’s Office agreed with a request by Gilyard and Felder for release on bail while the Office conducts an investigation and decides whether to take Gilyard and Felder to trial.
Gilyard and Felder are expected to be released within the week.
